2) What is their motivation for staying polygamist?

Are the young men really kicked out of their homes when they get to be teenagers?
ReplyDeleteWhat do those young men do if they are kicked out? Do they form bachelor herds?
These are just a few of the questions I have been wondering myself.
I think that doing your essay on this is very interesting. I have a hard time believing some of the stuff that goes on within that sect. I happen to know some run away polygamist and some of their story's are off the wall. I wonder what exactly their religion teaches and how having ten wives has anything to do with it.
ReplyDeletePolygamy is a very sad thing. It seems that most of them keep to themselves and shun the world outside of theirs.I think the questions about the runaways would be good research. I do know there is actual group homes for the boys that have been kicked out or ran out.
ReplyDeleteI think that is a great idea! My question though is where are you going to go to oberver them. I really do like your ideas though! I have always wondered these questions! I am very interested to find out the type of information you find out. A question you could ask them would be what is it that they do all day. What I mean is like what do the men do vs. the women?
ReplyDeleteWow...this could end up being a serious paper. You could ask them about their core beliefs. Do they believe that they have been commanded by God to live a lifestyle like that. Good luck
